Psychiatric Evaluations

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive assessment designed to understand your mental health concerns, symptoms, and overall well-being. During the evaluation, I will ask about your medical and psychiatric history, current symptoms, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatments or medications. The goal is to gain a full picture of your mental health so we can develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs. Evaluations typically last 60 to 90 minutes and may include discussing your mood, thoughts, behaviors, and any challenges you're facing.

Second Evaluations

Every year, millions of Americans seeking psychiatric services receive an incorrect diagnosis, a reality that can have profound consequence for their health and well-being. In the field of psychiatry, accurate diagnosis is particularly challenging because psychiatric conditions often share overlapping symptoms and nuance. Disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and PTSD can present in similar ways, making it difficult to determine the precise diagnosis and, consequently, the most effective treatment plan. An incorrect diagnosis can lead to inappropriate medications, ineffective treatment, unnecessary side effects, and prolonged suffering. A second opinion can provide valuable clarity, perspective, and reassurance by confirming a diagnosis or identifying any possible misdiagnoses.

Medication Management

Medication management is a structured process designed to ensure that psychiatric medications are safe, effective, and tailored to your individual needs. I will work closely with you to assess how well your current medication is working, monitor for side effects, and make adjustments as needed.

Smoking Cessation

Smoking cessation treatment is a personalized approach to help you quit smoking and achieve long-term success through evidence-based strategies, including behavioral support, medication options, and coping techniques to manage cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Vivitrol/Naltrexone

Naltrexone treatment is an effective option for individuals seeking support for alcohol use disorder (AUD) or opioid use disorder (OUD). I prescribe naltrexone in orally (daily tablet) or with the Vivitrol intramuscular (monthly injection) shot, depending on your needs and preferences.

Suboxone/Buprenorphine

Buprenorphine (Suboxone) treatment is a safe and effective option for individuals seeking help for opioid use disorder (OUD). As an addiction psychiatrist, I am proficient in the use of buprenorphine to help reduce cravings, prevent withdrawal symptoms, and support long term recovery.
